Methyl Cellulose

$7.50 / 4 oz. --- $12.50 / 8 oz. --- $21.00 / 16 oz.

(hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose) Added to water, this archival substance is used as a sizing agent or mild adhesive. Alum

$3.00 / 8 oz. --- $4.50 / 16 oz.

Aluminum Sulfate is used as a mordant to bond the marbling inks to paper or fabric. It comes in a crystallized form to be mixed with hot water, allowed to cool and then sponged on the paper and allowed to dry before marbling.

Pritt Glue Stick

$2.55 / .63 oz. --- $3.85 / 1.27 oz.

A neutral pH water soluble glue stick. This is the most archival glue stick we have found. It has the right pH and is reversible in water. Other glue sticks we tested had pH readings of 11 and higher. Glue sticks are dryer than other water base adhesives and therefore tend not to buckle paper.

Plaster Bandages
